Hi all! How’s the weather where you are? It’s been hovering around 115-117 degrees here in sunny Arizona these last few days… whew! Needless to say, we’ve been doing a lot of activities centered around water so that we can stay cool!
On Thursday, to celebrate the 4th of July, my family is heading to a neighborhood BBQ for some great food and lots of water fun. It’ll be so fun, and then once it’s dark we’ll get to watch the fireworks show. We’re looking forward to it!
Some of you are signed up to bring a meal to a friend or family member this week, and I have some great ideas for things you can make. I think making it more festive and cheery is ALWAYS the best way to go. Anything we can do as friends and family to show our love and care, and bring some sunshine into their life is the best option!! 🙂
Enjoy, and Happy 4th of July!!!
With St. Patrick’s Day coming up, I thought it would be fun to share some great recipe ideas with you. I found some great ones onFood Network, and my favorite looks to be Melissa’s Shepherd’s Pie.
It’s true that I may be a little partial since my last name is Shepherd…. but also all the ingredients in there are just delicious! This could be a spectacular meal to bring someone this week as we near St Patrick’s Day.
Don’t forget to wear green on Sunday, so you don’t get pinched! 😉
Oh, and here are a few really cute printables you can bring with your meal to spruce things up and add a little color! GREEN color, that is!
This cutie printable I found on Pinterest, and it’s from The Hands On Housewife.
This idea is SO great to bring someone along with a meal. It’s from Pumpkin Petunia.
Happy Monday, everyone! Thanksgiving is only a few days away, and I’m SO excited!!! What are your plans for Thanksgiving?
My family is pretty big, and we all live here in Arizona. So we get together (about 50 of us) for a BIG lunch and a BIG dinner, lots of running around, kids playing (I feel like I don’t see my kids all day long because they’re so busy playing with their older cousins who they adore), volleyball playing the backyard, pies, cookies, football, chatting, laughing, and just a wonderful time. My favorite part of the day is at the beginning, before we all eat. We all hold hands in a big circle, and my Grandpa says a prayer, thanking God for all He’s given us.
Today’s meal idea comes to you from the wonderful Family Feedbag… it’s Pumpkin Spice Cinnamon Buns, and it is the perfect breakfast or dessert for the Fall season! I hope you enjoy it and are able to bring breakfast or dessert to a friend or family member this week. Maybe even drop these off to a friend the morning of Thanksgiving. What a beautiful beginning to their day that would be! Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours!!
Oh, and here are a few really cute printables that would be perfect to frame and bring along with the cinnamon buns… 🙂 LOVE the Give Thanks one… I have it framed in my home!

Hi everyone! I have a treat for you guys today. The always amazing Our Best Bites has a recipe for Guiltless Alfredo Sauce, and let me just tell you…it’s to die for! I made this for my family this week and added pasta and broccoli, and it was a total hit. And that is saying a lot, because I have some picky palates around my house. Even my 17 month old scarfed it down, and wanted seconds. I loved it because I didn’t feel like I was consuming my entire day’s worth of calories in one meal, like most alfredo recipes. So, I highly recommend this recipe, and I’ll definitely be making this for the next family that I get to bring a meal to!
Here’s the bonus… an awesome Christmas gift idea! It also comes from Our Best Bites (I can’t get enough of them- their site is literally filled with creative ideas!), and it’s called a Tin Can Treat. You HAVE to check it out! You can put all kinds of things in there: homemade goodies (they have a TON of great recipes to get for adding to your tin, a gift card, candy, etc. The adorable labels were made by another one of my favorite gals, Kim from the TomKat Studio. She’s just adorable, and SO talented! You GOTTA check out her site! Oh, and I love the saying on the printable, “Good tidings we bring to you in a tin.” Of course, we love that since we’re Food Tidings!
So have fun making the Alfredo, and be sure to bring along a tin can treat with it the person you’ve signed up to bring dinner to using Food Tidings. You’ll make their Chrismas even merrier!
Hello friends! I am so sorry I’m just getting this posted- better late Monday night than never, right?! Tonight, I’d like to share with you recipes I have found for Turkey and Dressing from the amazing recipe site, Plain Chicken. You have GOT to check it out! So if you’re still looking for the perfect way to make your turkey, and a wonderful dressing reicpe… look no further!
After we had our third sweet baby, Jett, my Aunt Susie brought over a full Thanksgiving feast! She is quite the cook, so of course it was awesome. We had turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, the works… and the best part? It was in May! So there you have it…turkey and dressing can be eaten more than just Thanksgiving and Christmas. Enjoy, and Happy Thanksgiving!

Growing up, my mom always told us that Halloween is a fun day, and my sisters and I enjoyed dressing up and trick or treating. My dad is a dentist, and one year, we all dressed up as the tooth fairy… even my dad! Yes, he wore the tutu and everything. He’s so much fun.
What’s even better is that Halloween happens to be my mom’s birthday, which is mostly why my mom told us growing up how cool of a day Halloween is. 😉
Here are some fun ideas I found on the always amazing Our Best Bites with a Halloween theme to them. What would be really awesome is if you’re already signed up on Foodtidings to bring a meal to someone today, add one of these ideas to your meal and make it that much better! 🙂 Have a great day, and Happy Birthday to my mom!
Halloween Fun From Our Best Bites– Again, this is one of my favorite sites! Some of my favorite ideas are the mummy dogs, dirt n worms , and the caramel toffee fruit dip. But it’s hard to even pick because there are some really cute ideas here!
